It’s that time of year again — flowers are blooming, everything is green, and I get another year older. I’m rather fond of being alive, so I think this is a very happy thing to celebrate!
2012 was THE year. The one where ALL THE EXCITING STUFF happened! In the end, everything turned out pretty dang fantastic, but it was a bit of a bumpy ride. I started 2012 off feeling very grateful for all the good I had in my life–family, friends, crit partners, etc–and resolving to give back more to others in whatever ways I can. 2011 had been a particularly tough year, but I was hopeful and excited about the possibilities the new year could bring. A few short months later, I hit a low point.
If you follow my blog (and if you’re reading this, you probably do ), you may have noticed a distinct lack of posts since May. I had a terrible case of realifitis. I blogged recently about the need for real life and writing life balance over at the From the Write Angle blog and it was largely inspired by my own struggle.
