I’ve been hear­ing a lot of chat­ter over the last few weeks from other writ­ers about giv­ing up. Query­ing is hard. All that rejec­tion takes a seri­ous men­tal toll. Some­times you get to a point where you have to ask your­self: “Is it worth it?” Some peo­ple may answer with a Hell No, and give up or self-publish* instead. Oth­ers may say Hell Yes, and con­tinue slog­ging through Query­land try­ing out every roller­coaster ride and doing their damnedest not to puke their brains out on the ones that go upside down. I think they’re ask­ing the wrong question.
